As spring approaches, many families, like mine, are preparing their homes for the season. We’re taking our spring decor out of hibernation and making plans for new projects around the house. It’s time for spring renewal and rejuvenation, both in nature and in our homes. With the season of growth and new beginnings upon us, many of us are eager to refresh our living spaces and breathe new life into our surroundings. If you’re looking to give your home a spring-ready makeover, here are some tips and ideas to help you get started:

Spring Renewal Plan 1: Small Changes for a Big Impact

  • Refresh Your Color Palette:

Start by introducing earthy neutrals as a base tone and add splashes of ocean blue, nature green, and sunflower yellow to accent pieces like pillows, artwork, and accessories. Consider linen pillows and blankets for a light and airy feel.

  • Table Settings:

Spruce up your breakfast table with fresh table settings. White base kitchenware can create a clean and inviting look, perfect for the season.

  • Art Gallery:

Create an art gallery featuring spring-inspired landscapes. This can add a pop of color and personality to your space.

  • Lighter Tone Rugs:

Incorporate a rug with a lighter tone to allow natural light to bounce off the surface, brightening up the room.

  • Greenery:

Introduce greenery into your home with artificial plants for low maintenance and a touch of nature.

Spring Renewal Plan 2: Bigger Projects for a Fresh Start

  • Change Up Your Coffee Table:

If you have a coffee table with dark stains, consider replacing it with one that has a lighter stain or a different material or texture to enhance natural sunlight.

  • Fresh Coat of Paint:

Give your walls a fresh coat of paint in light, airy colors to create a sense of space and freshness.

  • Wallcoverings:

Consider adding wallcoverings to your powder room or guest bathroom for a touch of elegance and style.

  • Window Treatments:

Change out your window treatments with linen and sheer styles to allow natural light to filter through while still providing privacy.

  • Layout Changes:

Consider changing the layout of your family room. If you have a bulky sectional, try rehoming it and replacing it with a sofa and chairs. This can open up the space and provide an opportunity to add spring-inspired colors and patterns to your home.
