Transitional Holiday Decor

Here’s my favourite thing about holiday decor; lots of the beautiful pieces are transitional which means I can have a little bit of Christmas in my space all.year.long. La-Z-Boy is famous for their incredibly comfortable and luxurious seating, but lots of people don’t know about their beautiful decor items! Some of my favourite dishes, vases, throws, and pillows are all from La-Z-Boy.

One of my favourite pieces is this beautiful gold star which looks festive when surrounded with stockings and Santa Clauses. It also looks great in your space all year-round without feeling like a December-only item. Plus, if you’re short a Christmas star, you can toss this on the top of your tree in a pinch.

My team always makes fun of me for my pillow obsession ( I prefer the term collection). I love throw pillows, and when you see the full reveal of my new home – you’ll see how many I have on my new furniture… my guest beds are 75% pillow 25% bed. I love cream or beige throw pillows as I think they’re festive in the winter season, but the subtle hue is appropriate in the warmer months as well!

Throw pillows can add accent to any design

I love this gold vase, which I fill with fresh flowers in the spring, and cotton flowers for Christmas. The white puffy pods look beautiful in a gold base and instantly bring the vase from any-time to holiday-time.

I put this “Bon Appetit” pieces on my kitchen mantle sitting on a bed of white fluffy “snow” this year, it looks like Santa’s kitchen. In January (when Gary makes me reluctantly take down my Christmas decorations) I pull out the cotton and the Bon Appetit gets to stay.

Another one of my favourite transitional pieces is twinkle lights. While I don’t recommend living-room twinkle lights for every season, I do like a soft twinkle light in the bedroom. I bring out the lights in the early fall and they don’t get put away until the end of the Spring. And let’s not forget about the outside lights, those can stick around a few months after Christmas as well.

Purchasing transitional holiday decor does not need to break the bank. You can find convenient, cost-effective options now at La-Z-Boy that are perfect to keep your space looking great all year long.

How do you make the most of your holiday decor? What’s your ideal set-up/take-down time? I say anytime after Halloween is fair game! 😉
