Nature And Monochromatic Elements Combine

BC Children’s Hospital helps over 86, 000 children, which equals over 200, 000 hospital visits. To help that many children, including many with special and specific needs, the hospital needs specialized equipment and treatment. And for the most part, this is done through generous donations from the public, including the BC Children’s Hospital Choices Lottery.

One of the seven grand prizes is a beautiful home in Morgan Creek. The home is furnished by La-Z-Boy Vancouver. Debbie Heal says she used nature as her inspiration for decorating the home.

“Outside in the backyard, there’s a large pond, and it is just so serene and there are swans and it’s so relaxing. The house, I wanted to keep it very monochromatic with texture and nature inspired accessories.”

She added pictures of birds and elks along with birch trees to include nature in the space. There are also tree trunks stuck in planters. Debbie says she added the distressed table to the living room to complete the look.

Throughout the house the colour scheme is grey, which is still popular but Debbie says the grey’s this season are warmer with more brown tones. But if greys aren’t your thing, she adds that navy and blues are still hot colours.

And of course, after designing the entire home with La-Z-Boy Furniture, which of the rooms is her favourite?

“Oh, the living room, because I love the fabric on the living room chairs. They have a bit of a blush colour mixed in with grey. And we did four chairs around a round table and tumbling down the wall is gold sticks.”

The perfect place to sit around the table and having a conversation with a glass of wine.

The entire house is furnished with La-Z-Boy furniture, which may surprise many who think it’s still just a recliner line. For more information on the furniture visit
