Last week my son asked me, “what do you want for Mother’s Day?”
Humm…what do I want?...I just want to relax!...Relax and put my feet up!
Many of us mothers, and fathers too, live very busy lives. As parents of active children, we are constantly moving. Sometimes the weekends can be just as busy, if not busier, than weekdays. Running around getting everyone to where they need to be when they need to be there. Not to mention school, work, and chores. All aspects of our lives are now connected 24 hours a day. Sometimes it feels like I can’t get away or turn it off. Remember the TV commercial for the bubble bath where the lady says “Colgon take me away”!
As I am sitting here writing this, I hear my co-worker saying “Argh… these emails! ...They just DON’T end!”
Working as an In-Home Designer for La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, I have helped many clients create the rooms of their dreams. The focus is always on creating a beautiful space that the clients are very proud of. Comfort is a large part of the design as well. Some clients are in a stage of life where things are starting the slowdown; they are retiring or redecorating the house after their children have left the nest. When we are creating furniture layouts for them, one of the biggest requests we get is for comfort. Comfort has come a long way. Modern conveniences have also been added, like power recline, articulating headrest, adjustable lumbar, massage, cup holders and even USB ports to charge your mobile devices.
But, wait a minute!...why are we waiting to be comfortable? Why not now?
In my own home, I have always put form instead of function first. Yet, I have learned how important it is to be comfortable. After a long day at work, I look forward to enjoying some “me” time. I want to put my feet up and watch some of my favourite shows. Thanks to La-Z-Boy’s integration of these two, we can have the best of both worlds. We can even have the stylish look of a stationary sofa with the functionality of built-in recliners. Hundreds of beautiful fabrics to choose from to custom order almost anything you want. I think even Brooke would approve!
